OS Catalina Readiness Consultation

OS Catalina Readiness Consultation

Attention Mac Users!

Apple recently released OS Catalina 10.15.  Although Catalina has some exciting upgrades to it, we recommend waiting to update to new operating systems until Apple has had a chance to work out the bugs (usually 1-2 updates after the big release).  Some of the significant structure changes to Catalina include:

1 – Your computer may require additional upgrades (RAM) to run Catalina.

2 – Any 32-bit programs will not work after you upgrade.  This includes, but is not limited to Microsoft Office 2008, Microsoft Office 2011, printer software for older printers, Adobe Creative Suite CS5 and older, Lightroom 4, etc.

3 – iTunes is also being replaced with “Music”.  iPhone/iPad/iPod backup/sync processes are now initiated in finder.

If you’re concerned about how OS Catalina will affect you, schedule a 1 to 1 with one of our instructors today.  We can check backup health, review technical requirements, review which apps will be affected and locate replacement options (if available), etc. $30 for a 30 minute in-store session (by Appointment).
